Stoned from the Underground presented new bands

To create a kind of pre-festival-mood, SFTU also published a playlist on Spotify.

Weite!

Nicholas DiSalvo (Elder, Delving) and Michael Risberg (Elder) alongside colleagues Ingwer Boysen (High Fighter) and Ben Lubin (Lawns), have announced a new band, Weite!

Weite was initially conceived as a one-off winter project by Boysen, who contacted DiSalvo and Risberg with the idea to write and record a record within a week. Having played together in DiSalvo’s live band for his project Delving, a certain musical chemistry was already apparent. The three recruited Berlin-based English guitarist Lubin to round out the quartet and proceeded to bunker in for a week of intense songwriting.

One of their first shows will take place at the Stoned from the Underground 2023.

Confusion master

Confusion Master is a band – 4 guys, drawn from Punk and Metal circuits, sharing their love for sound, misanthrophy, D.I.Y. values and vintage gear. The members have earned merits in underground stalwart hordes such as CYNESS, WOJCZECH, BAD LUCK RIDES ON WHEELS and AEQUATORKAELTE.

To shorten the press bla bla: This band is ze German Neurosis.

thronehammer

Thronehammer is a multinational organized epic doom band. Stuart West and Tim Schmidt live close together, while singer Kat Shevil Gilham is from Durham, England. Accordingly, the first work mainly took place online.

The individual compositions are characterized by their length, which often exceeds ten minutes. The songs are relatively slow and contain elements of sludge. Besides genre-specific influences like Candlemass, Solitude Aeturnus, Goatsnake, Saint Vitus and Electric Wizard, Bathory is a big influence. The lyrics deal with the power and dangers of nature, but also with fantasy themes such as battles and war.
