It is a shame to see the line-ups for the upcoming festivals in 2024 in Germany; the spectators have to follow the big American names and also they have to pay a lot of money for seeing them. It is a shame not to find this band on any bill for the upcoming summer. I guess Eleanore are able to write four or five high class songs as "Dunkirk", an emotional heading for dynamic peaks within the song, played by a heavy distorted bas and mighty guitars. I wait now impatiently for the upcoming next...
Lemmy once said about Hawkwind: " If you get the flutes, the sax and the jingalingaling out of Hawkwind, it´s a very heavy music." So the Astrochemists from Singapore added a kind of jingalingaling 80´s mini-synth and massive guitars and driving rhythms so it comes quite near to the classic Hawkwind sound. It is almost mind-blowing what this band offers you; heavy riffs, a driving, forward pushing beat, hypnotizing riffs and the mentioned jingalingaling-thing.
Our beloved Italian Label Go Down Records added four more shows to celebrate its 20th birthday. As you can read on the Festival Report about the Maximum Festival, the variety of bands and styles is great and great. Check the local ticket service to listen to the NWoIHM (New Wave of Italian Heavy Music).
Greek instrumental rockers Tuber are back after six years. The release date will be 1st of December and you can purchase the record on their bandcamp site. Check the review.
Finally.. One of my absolutely favorite bands released an album after a long break. I was really excited to read the announcement that Morne will release "Engraved with Pain" on November 3rd on Metal Blade Records. Bang!
I wrote about all their albums, I wrote with Matsch but until now, I never managed to see them live on stage. Nevertheless, their latest album is another small masterpiece out of Reutlingen. Check the review.
A famous german joke during the 70´s was: How to buy a Lockheed Starfighter? Buy ground and wait. After Covid all regions have to have a festival and culture so you don´t have to travel anymore. Just wait, there will be concerts close to you.
When there will be no traffic jam in Germany, no van breakdown and no discussion about cost of traveling, the both running-orders will be fact and both festivals will be a blast.
