Metal Church were the living example that brilliant musical skills don´t lead to success. And the guy who was responsible for keeping a band full of divas together and pushing them to incredible songs, was Kirk Arrington. I knew quite a lot drummers and musicians during mid 80´s and early 90´s and the drummers tamed Kirk Arrington as their musical idol and influence. Not Dave Lombardo or Lars Ulrich. Metal Church was a fantastic band on stage.
Stillin 2006 when we saw Metal Church in a small club in Munich, he still was the driving force behind the band and although the band´s reputation kept declining, he played as it was 1984 or so. A pity for the Metal scene and of course for his family.
