Thanks to Mona from All Noir, who brought this band to our attention through promo, and yes, this is a band for whom boundaries exist to be torn down; everything fits together in a seemingly contradictory way, be it hard riffs, thrash metal, syncopated rhythms, dreamy acoustic moments, sometimes even within a single song. Each song is a 3-6 minute mixtape in itself, and the whole album even more so. Every song and the entire album is a coherent whole, and yes, this is the first album in a long time that I can listen to 100 times – similar to Witchcraft's Legend – and always discover something new. Today it's already been three times.
After several listens, I've come to the conclusion that this album reminds me a lot of the work of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, because both bands mix many colors—representing musical styles—into a single song, and unfortunately, the result is a rather bland, grayish sound. Sadly, no song on the album really sticks; there are no catchy choruses or hooks that get stuck in your head. For those who appreciate an exuberant stylistic diversity within a single song, this record is definitely a must-have. I'm curious to see how they perform live and whether the songs or the stage presence will resonate with the audience.
