At first, I was curious because I wasn't familiar with SYBERIA from Barcelona. The press release linked to a YouTube video for their new song "llampecs d’oblit d’uns records en vida," (flashes of oblivion of memories in life) so I clicked on it and was greeted by a scene I know well from our travels through Catalonia: Cercs on the Llobregat River, the Via Verde road running alongside the river, and the former Cercs power plant. The video's narrative takes us through the Llobregat Valley, with the former railway line along the river, through numerous tunnels, and finally into the cooling tower of the former power plant, where the lights are switched off. This theme is underscored by a cinematic soundtrack with equally dynamic energy. It sounds understated, which is a feeling almost impossible to convey with such captivating music. I'm the kind of guy who likes 3-5 minute rock 'n' roll songs that need a chorus, which means the song has to start after 15 seconds, and I'm sometimes very impatient for anything else. But what SYBERIA interweaves here in terms of musical modules, building them up and then dismantling them again towards the end, is truly masterful and not even fully captured by the given tags. This is the first song from the new album "Quant tot s'apagui" (When everything ends), and it's set in the middle of an interesting line that would make a great chorus in itself:

It seems as if the whole album will be a dynamic, melodic, and melancholic symphony of the highest musical caliber. I am particularly curious about the next filming locations for the videos and which songs will be included.
