Thanks to an invitation from the non-profit association "La Boite en Métal," we spent two days in the beautiful town of Crest, located in the heart of the Dròme department, where the fifth edition of the "Bridge to Hell" festival took place. In 2024, this festival also served as a warm-up for Hellfest, and the lineup reads like a who's who of the French metal scene. All the hottest bands except Gojira played there, and in addition to local and French bands, big names like this year's Septicflesh from Greece and Stoned Jesus from Ukraine made it to the stage of the "Espace Soubeyran." The majority of the guests came from neighboring departments, creating a real festival atmosphere at the adjacent campsite. Combined with the mountainous hinterland, the Dròme River—where you can swim without worry—and the professional and welcoming organization, this festival is definitely worth marking in your calendars for late summer.
