Syncolima (GBR) - Move Mountains
Daily Peaks · 10.06.2025
This band was suggested to me by my search settings on Bandcamp, and after just 20 seconds, it was clear to me that this band, and especially the song "Shipwrecker," was the daily peak. Everything is just right: the tempo, the groove, the riffing, the voice that conjures up an incredible vocal line. It's bad enough that we have to wait until September 5th for this gem to ship. Until then, I guess I'll have to listen to one of my new favorite songs every day. The heaviness combined with...

Bronca (FRA) - Bronca
Heavystoned Albums · 05.05.2025

Quintana (USA) - Eternity
Daily Peaks · 08.04.2025
Quintana is the solo project of Dusty Donley – guitarist of Mississippi Bones – and Eternity is his second full-length release under this name. It’s one of those albums that doesn’t scream for attention but earns it, track by track. From the start, Eternity brings thick riffs, heavy grooves, and a grunge feeling that stays throughout the whole record. The first track, “Timeless”, opens with a strong guitar and drums combo – direct, punchy, and without any extra fluff. You know...

Temple of Discord (SWE) - In the Ashes
Daily Peaks · 21.02.2025
'In the Ashes' is the brilliant debut album from Swedish heavy rock and metal merchants TEMPLE OF DISCORD, led by Wytch guitarist Mattias Marklund. Dark and brooding, yet radiant with multifaceted appeal, 'In The Ashes' explores a wide range of genres including classic heavy metal, alternative rock and grunge, dark folk, and progressive rock. Marklund's vocals are intense and heartfelt, taking the instrumentation into uncharted emotional territories while constantly hovering on the brink of...

Maison Dieu (ITA) - Mandragola
Daily Peaks · 31.01.2025
Maison Dieu hailing from Ancona, Italy and they sound like a jam between Karma to Burn´s riffing and drumming and Electric Wizzard´s riffing with Jex Thoth on vocals. Actually a lot of reasons to buy the record or their merch. The lyrics are a hermetic poem that speaks of the dialogue between the plant from which the song takes its name (Mandragola) and a person who tries to uproot it to extract the magical properties derived from the root, which is known to be shrouded in countless stories,...

Skogskult (SWE) - Pakten
Daily Peaks · 27.01.2025
When Scandinavian bands sing in their native language, whatever music they're playing takes on a slightly sinister, dark aftertaste. It was different with Abba, where the songs sung in Swedish sounded like children's songs, even though they were about heartbreak, separation and betrayal. "Pakten" is an irresistible banger in terms of style, but because the individual syllables of Swedish don't quite fit the beats, this song takes on a very individual direction. You feel like you're trapped in...

Motorik Road Trip (GBR) - V

Slung (GBR) - Laughter
Daily Peaks · 16.01.2025
The tags speak for themselves. I never thought I'd copy a press release, but Katie Oldham's voice is quite reminiscent of Hope Sandoval's from Mazzy Star. What the band creates behind it is a fine mix of '60s shredding, stoner, and punk, with a serious melancholic '90s rage. This is pure cinema, as is the fantastic video. So we're back in the '80s; the songs in the music videos were at least as good. But we need to be patient; the entire album will be released 2nd of May 2025.

Ditch (NED) - Everyone I know
Daily Peaks · 15.01.2025
The Dutch band Ditch actually came about out of embarrassment and while jamming, and it's precisely this randomness that gives rise to great songs like the previously released, hard-hitting rocker "Everxyone I Know." It casually references Fu Manchu while still creating its own style. The music reflects a lot of '90s spirit and style, be it grunge, stoner, and a bit of neo-punk, but also, as their previous albums demonstrate, plenty of '70s psychedelic and experimental rock. The song definitely...
