Social Media made it possible to discover this festival. I follow Asphyx due their unforgettable performance at the Hellfest 2013 and Destruction and ze German Melodic Death Metal Band Parasite Inc., which we booked 2015 for a gig together with Cripper and Loudblast in our beloved Backstage in Munich. And to receive a message, that these three bands play together on a German festival made me curious to know more about it. So i checked their homepage and the part about us. M.I.S.E. is a registered non-profit association which aims for promoting non-political, multicultural rock and metal music and to contribute to its preservation. And this with fair and affordable prices, good technical support and a very cozy atmosphere.
Generally said, without registered and therefore non-profit associations, no cultural activity would take place in the peripheral and rural areas of Germany. State funding for culture only takes place in urban areas. Classical music and theater are predominantly supported. All other festivals have become money-printing machines over time or the festivals remain within their traditional financial and spatial framework through associations for years, some even for decades. This also includes the MISE Open Air, which is organized by the heavy metal club M:O:A e.V. and volunteers. Every year at least three of the 30 bands that I have seen on larger stages at larger festivals meet there.
