I have to admit that I received the promo material for Fragile's concert at this year's BetiZfest two weeks before and simply ignored it. After the concert, things looked very different, as I saw a fantastic young band who effortlessly packaged the 90s into an acoustic time capsule. Musical styles that were already drifting apart in the 90s, leading to sometimes insurmountable barriers between emo, alternative, punk, grunge, and hardcore. This band from Angers (FRA) manages to effortlessly pack all of this into catchy, driving, melodic, and relatively heavy songs. Yes, the songs are heavier than 90s alternative rock songs; they're angrier, but not in a resentful or even frustrated way. Alongside this anger, a great deal of positive energy resonates in all the songs, because anger is, after all, the decisive game-changer in life. It's pointless to discuss each song individually, as they all boast a high level of composition and craftsmanship. The powerful production perfectly complements this, unleashing the energy like a spoiler on the road. So, check out this band as early you can, before they disappear on the main stages of festivals.
