Stargo (GER) - The Great Machine

I'm not the type to rub it in others' faces just because I know something they don't yet. I already know that the new album by the Dortmund band Stargo, due out in February, will be one of the "Album of the Year" contenders. The pre-released single "The Great Machine" manages to showcase everything we can expect on the full LP in a single format. Loud, quiet, calm and hard, slow, fast, crowned with a powerful and perfectly suited vocal performance. Thomas from Broken Music told me I should review the whole album. Unfortunately, there are no official samples available yet.

Now that I have received the other songs on this record from Broken Music, the first impression is that this band has nothing to do with the usual German nonsense and plays straight stoner rock loaded with powerful metal riffs and spiced up with a lot of fuzz and doesn't get lost in 13 minute, meaningless songs. Finally a band that dares to rock, finally a band that has a really good voice, hits the right notes and doesn't try to imitate musical role models. The entire album is varied, heavy and dynamic from the beginning to the last note without any filler. I'm completely thrilled.

I know that the band also released a 14-minute piece with the song "Dammbruch", but this collection of complex and varied songs is the musical style that suits the band best. Yeah
