Yes! There are some new names on the bill like Toundra, Gumm and Greenleaf. So after their split in 2023, Toundra are back with their cinematic soundscapes, heavy riffs and catchy guitar hooks, Gumm will destroy the Columbia Theatre with their "take no prisoner" Hardcore and Greenleaf will be Greenleaf. The only thing missing to cover the complete musical spectrum of heavy, deep-toned music is a death or black metal band. Such a wide range of different bands and styles at the Columbia venues means that SOL and Greyzone have outdone themselves compared to last year.

The 2026 edition of Berlin´s Desertfest presents just a few usual suspects and a lot of interesting acts like EF, Crippled Black Phoenix, Fuzz Sagrado, Monsterwatch just to tame a few. Again at the Columbia Venue and again with a fantastic sound and a fantastic light. I´m really excited which bands will be the next ones. Until now a fantastic line-up.
To quote the official press lines:
"From the sun-drenched deserts of California, NEBULA bring their fuzz-soaked, interstellar riff rituals – pure cosmic fire. Portland’s BLACKWATER HOLYLIGHT summon a dark, dreamlike blend of heavy psych and ethereal melody, where doom meets hypnosis. Sweden’s EF shape vast post-rock landscapes, full of emotion and light, stretching beyond the horizon. Switzerland’s fuzz prophets FOMIES channel raw desert spirit through sun-cracked distortion and groove, while FUZZ SAGRADO (ex-Samsara Blues Experiment) deliver hypnotic, groove-driven stoner rock rooted in thick tones and jam-heavy flow. Seattle’s MONSTERWATCH erupt in a storm of grunge and punk fury, reckless and cathartic. And from the streets of Mexico City, CARDIEL will ignite the DESERTFEST BERLIN stage with their skate-punk-meets-psychedelic fuzz revolution – political, wild, and unstoppable.
Today’s new additions crank the lineup to the next level, joining a first wave that already boasts heavy-hitters like RUSSIAN CIRCLES, HERMANO ft. JOHN GARCIA, THE SWORD, KING BUFFALO, ACID KING, TRUCKFIGHTERS, EARTHLESS, and many more!"

There it is; another breathtaking edition of Desertfest in Berlin. I don´t know how Matte (SOL) and Stefan (Greyzone) get all these bands for one festival. For sure is the reputation of Berlin´s Desertfest, the venues, the area around and the Berlin factor, for example that you can overnight in the venue for 15€. Some bands like The Sword, Nebula or Crippled Black Phoenix (among others) we haven´t seen for years and this line-up is just mind blowing.
Again a lot of promising to discover, like HÅNDGEMENG from Oslo, or SKLOSS, from Austin, Texas. This duo drones and spaces and sludges and trips through their music. What a surpris after ten years; half of London´s Desertrock scene aka STEAK will tear the roof off the Columbiahalle. Just check out the playlist
