Now I have the second single from the Catalan band Syberia in front of me, and the more I listen to this music, the more allusions I seem to discover. This song is simultaneously an acoustic mandala à la My Sleeping Karma, melodic and fragile like the soundscapes of Alcest, and at the same time brutal and destructive like Neurosis.
It is not the usual Postrock or Shoegaze-sound and it is not the usual noise created by angry men; it has a lot of melodies inside the composition performed with a metal-influenced attitude. Again it´s a trip with clear signs where the trip goes. You will hear it.
I took this as an opportunity to create a video to visualize these interwoven musical contradictions and complements. No matter which fractals video you take, these patterns fit perfectly in this permanently changing acoustic patterns. I'm curious to see how the band visualizes this highly complex music live, because the venues for their upcoming European tour seem too small, in my opinion, this music was composed for a more cinematic format of a stage.
