Back in 1985 and 1986, I wished the first two Megadeth albums had been better produced. I wished there had been a kind of second "Ride the Lightning." Well, back then I bought all sorts of bands that played harder, faster, and with more nuance than Motörhead or Venom. Now, 40 years later, Mona from All Noir sent me promo material for this young band from Sweden, and after the first few bars, I'm instantly 19 again. It's astonishing how this band captures that mid-80s feeling and recreates it with such remarkable perfection, coupled with flawless production. I can only hope this promising band is spared the fate of the Finnish thrashers Lost Society, who launched around 2014 with similar hype and now lead a rather quiet existence as support acts or similar.
